At 1/6th scale the lion écorché is one of seven models in the "Big Cats anatomy écorché" series, it represents the average size lion at approximately 9 ft long. You may set different scale as you see fit. For example, if at 1/9th scale, it would represent the biggest lion on record of over 11 ft long from tip of the nose to the tip of the tail. The lion model is created from actual lions, the head is sculpted on top of a 3D scanned skull of a very large lion. Lion Anatomy model is approx 12" long, highly detailed it shows superficial muscle on one side, surface anatomy on the other side. It features a detachable head, this allows the option of switching to the Mouth-Opened "Roar" head(sold separately) for alternative reference. This size of an anatomy tool is perfect as a desktop reference of anatomy for sculptor, or as animal anatomy for the artist; the size is design for ease of handling, for teaching, or study.

The African lion (Panthera Leo) is one of the five big cats in the genus Panthera including, tiger, jaguar, leopard, and the snow leopard. The lion is the top predator of the African Savannah, with a top speed of approximately 50 miles (80 km) per hour, it hunts down prey animals such as antelopes, zebras, wildebeests, and cape buffaloes. Averaging 350 to 450 lbs in weight, with a few exceptions exceeding 600 lb, it measures 9 to 10 ft in length from nose to tail, and stands at 4 ft at the shoulders, the lion is the second largest living cat after the tiger. Although the anatomy of lions and tigers are very similar, from a technical standpoint, they have slightly different body proportions.
